With half the squad from last year’s winning Championship League side still within the squad expectations were once again very high. The winter program started in October, with this regular training involving nets, fielding and small-sided matches by April the squad were ready for the season. With a fairly strong and varied bowling attack, it did not take long to see the opposition team’s scores being restricted. The batting was put to the test on a couple of occasions but came through the challenges very well. The team finished the league unbeaten – a fantastic achievement!

There was time to play a friendly against Sevenoaks Vine A team at their Otford venue and restrict them to 91 in 16 overs the team won the game and finished with a record 8 wins from 8 games. This was a remarkable squad performance. During the season only 13 players were used in the squad – the majority being under 10. Five players will be moving to the u13 squad for 2023 and we’re sure they will perform well.
