Cowdrey entered the Savills Sevenoaks Smash for the first time in 2022 with the new exciting hundred ball format looking to make its mark on the amateur level. Drawn in a group with Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge and Bidborough. The newly formed Courage managed to make it two wins from three, placing us second behind the Tunbridge Wells Royals. Match-winning 50s came from Jack Mutch, Barney Scott & Stuart Clarke in the group stage. The knockout games came around and successfully fended off Kings Hill & Sevenoaks School, before falling short of Finals Day; losing to a strong Hesketh Heat (Dartford) outfit in the semi-final.
A very enjoyable and successful season for the Courage. The top run scorers were Jake Greenberg and Barney Scott. The top wicket-takers went to Birendra Singh who took 6 wickets in his 100 balls, 20 in every game he played. Kenrick Scott also took 4 wickets for the Courage this year, with Jake McGroarty taking the third spot with 3. We look forward to 2023, maybe we might even reach Finals Day.
